About the café
A bar with the game always on
Family-run, grill-led, and loud in all the right ways. This is the café the barrio keeps coming back to.

Our story
Started by a family, run like one
G cafe Bilbao opened its shutters on Zuberoa Etorbidea, in the low, lived-in streets of Irala — one of Bilbao's old working quarters, up behind the river and the Guggenheim. We wanted one thing to stay the same: a place where a steelworker, a grandmother and a visiting fan could sit at the same bar and eat well for a fair price.
Two generations on, the grill is the same, the recipes are the same, and the welcome hasn't moved an inch. We cook what we'd cook at home — just more of it, and with the match on.

Everything goodcomes off the embers
Oak charcoal, a heavy iron grill, and meat we age ourselves. Nothing clever — just fire, salt and timing.
What we care about
Short rules, kept every day
Meat, fish and produce from suppliers we've used for years — much of it straight from La Ribera market down the hill. When something isn't right, it doesn't go on the plate.
We'd rather be the café you come to twice a week than once a year. Generous plates, honest prices, no surprises on the bill.
High chairs for the little ones, big tables for the crew, the game on the screens, and no one hurried out the door. The barrio's living room.
